Way too much fun5
Buffy's back in high school and having a very bad day... This book is just like an interactive episode of the show. Highly recommended-- I love the new format! It's fun for kids, but also nostalgic for us, er, let's just say post-teens... Also recommended: Keep Me In Mind by Nancy Holder

A very poorly done choose your own adventure style story.2
This is one of the titles in the Stake Your Destiny series of Buffy books, a book which uses the Choose Your Own Adventure concept. I was exited to find out about this new venture in the Buffy novelisations but was rapidly dissapointed as soon as I dipped into it's pages. Let's just say it took me about five minutes to find and read a way to the correct ending, this was mainly because of the sequencing of the 'chapters' with many of the right paths being closely packed together meaning at times it mean't I was led to just reading it like an ordinary novel.

The author obviously doesn't understand the concept of this style of game books and didn't feel the need to jumble up many of the chapters. It would have worked better as a game if the chapters had been completely mixed up e.g. you would be on page 22 and it tells you to choose pg 44 or pg 72. In actual fact in this book you get a choice of the next page or three pages on which makes it extremely easy to figure out the correct way through.

If you're a huge Buffy fan you will probably want to add this to your collection but if you want any kind of a challenge you would do better to save your money and steer well clear of this book or the others in the Stake Your Destiny series.
