Best statistics book I have seen in a long time
The title and the cover don't give it away, but this is one of the best statistics books (for any social/biological science) that I have seen. The authors have a fantastically irreverent tone, including such things as C.R.A.P. detectors, at the end of chapters (listing ways that researchers and statisticians try to trick us). They are also rude about many other stats books, suggesting that the authors put in lots of detail, because the worry that they are not 'real' statisticians, and have to prove otherwise to the reader. The book starts at the beginning - looking at graphs, and moves up to path analysis and structural equation modelling.
