MURDER? OR JUSTICE?
Men are dying unexpectedly in Charlotte, North Carolina - all victims of bizarre accidents. Or so it seems, until detective Melanie May realises these men had something in common. They all slipped through the fingers of the justice system, accused of abuse but allowed to walk free.
This was a great book. and although I guessed the killers identity from about 2/3rds of the way through the book, it didn't spoil it. Great twist at the end!!!
Twin set and match
This is the first book I've read by this author. I was intrigued by her latest novel 'Copycat' so I thought I'd catch the drift, as it were before deciding to buy this one.
Well, I certainly wouldn't want to live in Charlotte. All the women have suffered abuse, all the blokes are decidedly flaky and despite a clean murder sheet in the town, we suddenly find there are 12 unsolved murders lying in the background.
The story is pretty well put together but the clues to the killer are there for the taking unless you are sidetracked somewhat. However, having twins in our family, I find it difficult to accept that the one didn't know the feelings of the other upon which the final denouement hinges! Also, how a standard sized woman can sink a 330lb package into a lake single handedly is beyond me - but she did!
Ah well. Fans will read her books, I'm sure. I guess I'll read another, too just in case there are some normal straightforward women in this author's repetoire.
