Customer Reviews
This book is great to read, you cant put it down!
At first when I bought this book I didn't think much of it. As I started to read the book I really started to enjoy it. The writer talks about wrestling and what people go through to be a wrestling star. The fact that they put their bodies on the line all the time just to entertain the crowd and yet they earn scratch. Read his real life storie of how he wanted to become a wrestler and what he had to go through to acheive his dream. But did he follow his dream in the end after much determination? I'm not going to tell you, you'll have to buy this book and find out. Believe me its the best book I've read so far. You'll love it!
For real Dynamite fans
I became a fan of the wwf after Tommy left so although I knew of him, and had seen a few of his wwf ppv's, I was never really a fan.
If you buy the book don't expect much about his life outside the business, it's clear from the begining that wrestling was his life, which only make's it all the more tragic when he eventually becomes crippled by the demands of the industry he lived for. It's not a lot of laughs, but buy it for the inside story on Davey and Tommy.
The Best There Is
Having read the Rocks "Autobiography" and both of the Mankind books I can say without any doubt that this is the most satisfying read of the four. Unhindered by the censorship of an employer this is, in my mind, the most honest portrayal of wrestling in the 80's (and it's probably no different today). Both heartbreaking and humorous, if you are like me you will read it from cover to cover in one go. Essential.
