Good Things Come in Small Packages5
The printer's write up doesn't do justice to this book. The story of two boys in Senior Year at school is just a small part of this story. The central character is Paul Carter and it is his story, how he rises above his abyssmal home life and finds true friendship and love. It's a great little book and I would recommend it to all those who enjoy a good love story.

Short by very enjoyable.4
At just over 120 pages in length, this is one of those quick but very satisfying reads. The story is told from the viewpoint of a 17 year old boy at school, who upon the death and serious injury of a couple from the ‘popular set’ in school, is horrified when a month later the school ‘gay’ is murdered. The way in which the school faculty dealt with the 2 incidents was so shocking to Paul, that he stands up in the assembly and decides to stand up for 'remember' the murdered young gay man in a positive manner; because of this he is ostracised by not only the school, but by his family, and especially his violent preacher father. A very kind man for whom Paul has done many favours takes him in, and the book centres on Paul coming to terms with who he is, accepting love, and balancing his religious upbringing with the realities of life. This is a very good read, and ultimately very satisfying.

Not a bad read......4
All around quite a quick paced, deep, emotional and interesting read.

The characters and situations are believable as is the main relationship in the novel.

I dont think many people would be disappointed when they read this book - you can just switch off from your life and go into someone elses in one quick scoop. The pictures not bad on the front either.
