Product Description

Newspaper columnist Daniel Caruso has a wife he loves deeply, a daughter who means everything to him, and a secret that could destroy them. At a conference in Seattle, he meets and spends a passionate night with Stephen Hart, a handsome firefighter. When he is home with his family, the serenity of a weekend morning is shattered by the arrival of a message: a gruesome package, the contents of which make clear that Stephen Hart has been murdered. As chilling messages increase in regularity, Stephen's killer becomes puppet-master terrorising Daniel in a matrix of secrets and sex.

Review
"Cool as witch hazel, frightening as a fresh body part, this thriller about a gay serial killer is guaranteed to give you sleepless nights. This is a page-turner about married men, cops, journalists, thieves and murderers. If you've ever wondered what goes on inside those big old clapboard houses in Providence, Rhode Island, this beautifully crafted novel will give you the horrifying scoop."--Edmund White, author of "The Married Man and "Fanny

Customer Reviews

Beware of sexy Firemen! It will only lead to trouble!4
The steamy storyline was too good to pass up, so I ordered this novel despite having read several mixed reviews. I have to say that I was surprised; "Someone You Know" is a very satisfying and sexy read. Main character, Daniel, does stop and play at the strangest of times but ... don't all of us think about it when we spot a hot guy in the crowd?! I mean, maybe we don't act on it but Daniels actions added a sexy, fantasy kick to the thriller. It might have been obvious but I didn't get who the killer was; I got to the end of the novel, turned the page and gasped at the twist. It reads like a good movie. I kept picking the book up to read on and consequently finished it very quickly. The chapters are short and sweet and the writing is fresh and fast-paced. Supporting roles are thinly outlined but this forces the reader to focus on Daniel and his ill fate. A fine debut from a fresh new writer; highly recommended.

Be very careful what you do when you're away from home...4
Hot and steamy, yes, but there is an underlying theme of guilt which pervades this excellent mystery story. A guilt a married man has when he scores with a man, and an even deeper guilt when he feels genuinely attracted to that person and knows that in different circumstances, he could really make a go of being a happy Gay man.The trouble is, that he really does love his wife and daughter, and (what a change!) doesn't purport to be Bisexual - he's a genuinely randy Gay married man.
The subsidary characters are outlined only insofar as they provide a vehicle for some rather steamy sex scenes - in a public loo, a bath house, a public park and the grand opening, in the bed of a hunky firefighter who within a few pages loses more than his self control.
The relationship between our hero and his wife is very touching; who says a wife is always the last to know? 90% of married men who are Gay are aware that their wives have a good idea of their situation and have their own way of dealing with it.
A great read - almost too compulsive, unless you really do have a couple of hours to spend by yourself enjoying an excellent book.
