When the king of a neighboring kingdom seems keen to forge an alliance with Jamas by allowing the prince to marry his niece, the real danger is Yasmin, the wicked queen wife, who poisons everyone she dislikes or suspects of interfering with her ambitions. Customer Reviews

Not McCaffrey at her best but still a good read!4
I must say I enjoyed this book, which is essentially a fairy tale. It doesn't match up to the writing in the earlier Dragon books but it's still a good read and is in Anne McCaffrey's usual well written style. There is of course a happy ending with a cleverly thought out and very suitable end to the villainness! There is the feeling too that there could be more stories to come about the characters in it.

I have nearly all of Anne McCaffrey's books and was well pleased with this addition to the library.

Great read! just right for a long haul flight.5
Yet again Anne McCaffrey shows that there is more in her head than dragons and space-ships. an absolute must for anyone who likes cats! The story bounds along at a fair pace, reaching the end far to soon! The only negative remark I can find to say is that maybe the publishers should have put together the three short stories Anne has written, giving the reader a real treat and value for money. Having said this, buy it!

An entertaining, quick read.4
I was at first doubtful when I received this as a gift. But took it along to read on a flight and throughly enjoyed the book. McCaffery again shows her versatility of subject matter, writing another great short story.
