Heart of Tarot Review
The book isn't quite what I expected - it's far more in fact. Although it has standard interpretations for the cards, the book is designed more to make the reader/student think for themselves and use their own intuitive interpretations and also gives space for the student to write their own notes regarding interpretations.

The whole of the Major Arcana is covered but not every card in the Minor Arcana, which may disappoint some beginners but students will soon realise that they are not needed.

I don't really think the sample Tarot readings section was necessary - but then I don't like them sample readings anyway - but that's a personal viewpoint!!

The spreads section is good and the section dealing with reading as a professional is excellent and shows how to deal with tricky customers.

The section on teaching the Tarot is short but good for those who do wish to teach - it gives fresh ideas for classes as well as suggested class structures.

A Brand New Approach To Tarot
This book introduces a method of Tarot reading called 'Gestalt Tarot', whereby the Reader facilitates the Querent's investigation of the Tarot symbols, and thereby helps him/her achieve insight into their current situation. All the usual approaches of learning Tarot meanings by rote or just using psychic ability are discarded, in favour of a brand new, intuitive, counselling and facilitative approach to helping the Querent understand the cards in the context of their question / life. Much more empowering for the Querent, and less responsibility for the 'Reader' / facilitator. A must for anyone SERIOUSLY interested in using the Tarot as a symbolic means of tapping into those deep inner resources.
