Customer Reviews
A great comic for all star wars fans
This comic forgets the usaul route of finding knew situations to put old charcters into and sets about bringing new charcters AND situations to put them in. It is set immediatly after Episode one and features a new member of the Jedi Council Ki-Adi-Mundi who's misson is to find a rouge jedi who is leading a battalion of Tusken raiders to fight against the innocent farmers of Tatooine. Then there is the added bounus of Aurra Sing the new jedi killing bounty hunter who is rumoured to be featured in the next two episodes. This comic has everything, lightsaber battles, jedi mind tricks, sand people, jabba and just about everything you'd expect.
A little on the fractured side.
'Emissaries to Malastare' lacks the intrigue and action of the series' previous installments 'Prelude to Rebellion' and 'Outlander' but does have a lot of nice touches that make a good start at making up for it. We get to see Episode I's Jedi Council members in action again, so there is much wise-talk and lightsaber swinging. There are also plenty of clues to impending events such as an appearance by the new Jedi, Quinlan Vos and a very well hidden clue to the past of Ep I's bounty hunter Aurra Sing. To cap it all off, this book has plenty of cameo appearances including Anakin, the denizens of the podraces, some of Episode I's senators and Sebulba (who's piloting the re-sprayed Podracer he bought from Anakin in the Episode I novel).
