Practical step by step support towards connection5
How do you help someone who feels lonely and without social connections?

People give the usual bunch of advice about joining an evening class or volunteering. That helps some people but doesn't guide those who have difficulty connecting. This workbook is different and covers a range including communication, relationship building skills, where to meet people, coping with rejection/crowds and overhauling beliefs and self talk.

It covers a lot of ground and is based on workshops run with a range of groups. There are lots of self evaluation exercises and stories from people facing loneliness. Some folks come from divorce, others move cities, some are homeless.

This is down to earth, sensible, comprehensive and gentle. It mixes background information in a clear teaching style and encourages the reader to reflect on their own behaviour and attitudes. There's a lot in it, but it doesn't seem 'busy' or overwhelming.

I've been looking for something like this for ages - to help clients and for myself after divorce and relocation.

Good value for money - not just another shelf filler in the self help section.
