Amazon.co.uk Review
Microsoft Access 97/Visual Basic Step by Step is a general introduction to Microsoft Access with a focus on Visual Basic. The book assumes prior Access experience, but does fully describe all of the features required to understand the Visual Basic programs. The book contains a set of powerful examples, such as how to build a custom Web browser with just a few lines of code and how to set up an automated payment system. Happily, the book comes with a CD-ROM that contains all of the code described in the book. --Jake Bond

Poor
I feel that this book did not give me the in depth knowledge of access visual basic. This book only shows you how to make your database look pretty. After reading this book ten times you still wouldn't know how to program an access database using visual basic.
If you are Begginer, don't waist your money
The book covers stuff to make you database more pretty and faster (usig it) but forgot to explain the realy important matters.
If you develop Dbases in access and want to know how to make a button change color or disapear, buy this book (or look into the properties of the object:)
Excellent Book for Learning Access 97 and VBA
This book, with its Step-by-Step examples, has been far more instructional than the previous "Mastering Microsoft Access Programming" disk I previously bought. The examples are realistic and offer insight into useful features of the program. The progress through the examples is exact, the responses as expected, and each chapter builds on the prior one without the necessity of having perfectly executed the prior exercises. I highly recommend it for someone who has to learn on their own rather than take a course taught by others. I also have the Office 97 Visual Basic Step by Step, and plan to buy the FrontPage 98 Step by Step to complete my self training.
