May be not a Collector's Encyclopedia of Pendant and Pocket Watches 1500-1950
This book covers the early years of pocket watch making and history in an informative way. A loose guide for collectors who are intrested in the high end of the market. The book starts out as a guide to the very early Euopean watch makers but they end up being forgotten when the the author gets to the time preiod of Amarican machine made pocket watches. The time line historys that appear in this book are intresting and give a good overall view to the history but the book unfortunatly lets you down if you are a collector of English, Euopean watches and are not able to spend hundreds or even thousands of pounds or dollars on a watch. It does provide very clear photos but the discriptions could be better. All in all not what you could call a collectors encylopedia but a history of early Euoprean and later American pocket and pendant watches.

POCKET WATCH BOOK BY J. BELL
The quality of this book is outstanding and the content surprised me as the author is not a watch expert. Ms Bell has, however, marshalled some of the best specialists in the field and the technical content is excellent. I thoroughly recommend it.
