Average customer review:Product Description
Shrouded in mystery and misunderstanding, Aleister Crowley is one of the 20th Century's most revered occult figures. With the "Weiser Concise Guide to Aleister Crowley", readers are given a careful, comprehensive overview of Crowley's life and his life's work, including the basic principles of his magical practices. From the book: Crowley openly defied social conventions, challenging people to examine what they really believed, and why they believed it. He confronted blind faith with rational skepticism. Yet he likewise challenged the skeptic with scientific illuminism, a systematic approach to spirituality that he described as 'The method of science, the aim of religion'. Set aside your preconceptions and dismiss the rumours. Crowley was certainly a complex, controversial and colourful man, but the truth is far more interesting than the legend.

Magick with a capital
This book has been needed for some time now
comperable to none in its simplicity yet panaromic in detail well done Richard
Excellent guide to A.C. and his Magickal system
Anyone wanting a good overview and guide to Aleister Crowley and his magickal work can do no better than this book.
It gives a brief but accurate biography of Aleister, and also guides you through the simpler rituals involved in Thelema.
I'd say the ritual information is more of a taster than a primer on magick, but it will give the beginner a good idea of the system all the same.
It does its job well, being a Concise Guide. Recommended!
