Do we have a free will?
Troubled of the question if God can predestine some people to heaven and some to hell? Then this is certainly a book you should read - and slowly.
It goes in deep in church history. To Agustine who started the theology on predestination. It shows that one of Augustines major views were grounded on a verse in his latin version of the new testament. A verse wrongly translated, we know today!
Did God force Pharao to hold the Isralittes back in Egypt? What does it mean when God "hardened" Pharaos heart? The book answers that and many other questions and left me happier for a God that truly respects us and our will.
A wonderful book.
Best theology book I've read!
If you've grappled with the nature of God, if he's all powerful and loving then "Why do good people suffer?". Then this book is a must. It's fairly academic but reveals the God of the Bible better than any other I have read. The love of God shines through brighter and the world makes more sense thanks to Roger Forster's brilliant analysis of difficult subjects. If only every church would grab hold of the God who is love, described here... this book could change your world!
