Editorial Reviews

Synopsis
Tattooing and body modification are becoming increasingly popular and this book is unique in that it focuses on the spiritual use of body modification. The body is more than just a vehicle for the soul- it is our home at this time. Crafting the Body Divine takes us on an uplifting, joyous Journey to discover and reunite our body and soul. Galenorn provides her own personal revelations as well as one-on-one interviews, rituals, exercises, visualizations, spells, and practical tips to help us achieve spiritual and physical balance. She discusses beauty, offering nutrition and grooming tips. She also explores movement as ritual and explains how we can use exercise to experience the Divine through our bodies. The final third of the book explores using body alterations such as tattooings, piercings, brandings, and scarification as a personal expression of one's spirit.

Customer Reviews

a breath of fresh air - not your standard Wicca 101....5
It makes such a pleasant change to read a Pagan book that actually says something new! Galenorn's book is down-to-earth, eminently sensible, sensitive and needed. For a supposedly earth-based and body-positive spiritual tradition, this kind of material is terrifyingly thin on the ground. From food & fitness to body modification, "Crafting The Body Divine" is a book that should be on the shelf of every (particularly female) pagan. While I didn't agree with every part of the book, I very much enjoyed reading it. Thoroughly recommended.

not what I expected3
From the title and what I'd read about it, I got the impression there was a lot in the book related to piercing and tattoos, but upon receiving it, I found this was not the case (though they are mentioned).
It wasn't clear that this book was really for women. Although some men may enjoy it too, I bought it for my boyfriend and when he discovered the main topics were leg waxing and bikini lines he was a little disappointed. Not his thing really.

I don't want to knock it as a good read - it's perfectly good - I just want to warn others who may also misunderstand the content.
