About the Author
Maureen Carlson is the author of two books, How to Make Clay Characters and Family and Friends in Polymer Clay. She has written for numerous craft magazines and has produced a series of instructional videotapes about polymer clay. Her moulds and figurines are found in craft and gift stores nationwide.

Even more superb characters to make inside the book
The characters inside this book are beautiful. You think the characters on the front cover are cute you wait until you see inside there are even more. Animals, teddy bears, pixies and reptiles all with very easy step by step instructions on how to make them. Each instruction is accompanied by a photo so you can see exactly what you are supposed to be making.

Book starts with how to handle polymer clay. Then how to make basic shapes, how to use the basic shapes to make the characters, how to mix new colours and how to bake your characters including how to support them so they don't sag when they are in the oven.

I expected the characters on the front cover to be the best ones in the book but the ones inside are just as cute.

An excellent book and one I would highly recommend.

this book is absolutely BRILLIANT! I bought this for my 8 year old daughter. She has made some beautiful pieces of fimo and learned lots of new techniques.

Clay Characters for Kids
oooooh, the pictures in this book are gorgeous, inspirational. The photography just brings the book to life. It really sets it apart from so many others. Lots of projects and a story too - in rhyme. You really will adore this book if you love whimsy dragons, fairies, elves, snakes, flowers, butterflies, etc.

Lots of colour mixing, tips, what to make with leftovers.
My children love this book - but its mine! It's just sooo lovely.
