QUOTES & REVIEWS: "Ms. Benson paints a fine picture of the trials of a couple who must rely on their faith to make a go of a relationship in this 4-1/2 star read. She is just as a compelling writer in Christian romance as she is in contemporary."
Customer Reviews
Sometimes love is not enough.............
"They smiled at each other happily, then turned to wave at their friends and families who had come to witness their dream wedding.........." You won't find that in here! Unlike most other books that end at the wedding leaving the reader with a 'happily ever after' feeling, this book departs from the traditional route and actually takes an incisive look at some of the challenges that can face an already married couple. This is the second book in the Genesis House series, and is an entertaining read, even as it deals with a very emotive subject. Marvin loves his wife dearly,is strong, silent, and keeps all his emotions bottled in. Shay has proved in the past that she loves and is ready to stand by her man, but now she is overwhelmed by a greater love for someone else. The writer demonstrates the importance of truthful communication within marriage, and of dealing with issues as they arise, no matter how painful they may be. Once again we are taken into the very lives of the characters as they make decisions without taking into consideration the effect this could have on others. We are shown that Christianity goes beyond just preaching, and should include getting involved with, and reaching out to touch the communities in which we live. All differences are resolved by the end of the novel, and we see how fortunate Marvin and Shay are to have friends that not only care, but also demonstrate this by praying for and with them. I could not put this book down till I had finished it, and I cried and smiled through the entire book. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
