A Cool Series...
I don't quite know what it is about Legal Drug that I like so much, but something about it just works! This is definitely one of my favourite among Clamp's series.

The story centres around two characters, Rikuo and Kazahaya, two seventeen year old boys who are both working for a pharmacy. However, they both have powers, which leads to the shop owner, Kakei, also giving them sinister tasks/jobs to perform. Thus the manga has the magical/fantasy element present in a lot of Clamp's work.

Within each volume, chapters focus on the different missions the boys perform. As a result, chapters are kind of free-standing, story-wise. There are developing plot threads too though, including the increasing closeness between Rikuo and Kazahaya; secrets in both the boys' pasts; and also the mystery of what the shop owner, Kakei, is exactly up to.

On the whole I find the characters likeable and well-developed, and the plot is interesting and engaging too. I think the art in Legal Drug is really beautiful and edgy as well. I would definitely recommend this series- it's been on hiatus for a long time now, but will hopefully be completed at some point!

Amusing but slow.
This isn't too bad so far, and I get a good impression that the series will pick up later, but for now, the first volume is quite slow. However, the characters are quite amusing and it would be worth a try if you have nothing else higher on your list of manga to read. The humour is generally fairly good, if infrequent, but it does fill up with a little background on the characters too. The artwork is generally quite good, as to be expected. Overall, whilst it isn't the most interesting thing I've read, it is still worthwhile.

Legal Drug is actually the first CLAMP manga I ever read. The second I opened the book I was absorbed and instantly wanted the second one. As the volumes go on it just gets more interesting! You have the typical shady character (Saiga), the moody one (Rikuo), the easily annoyed one (Kazahaya), and the extremely feminine one (Kakei). I just love how typical the characters are and it's definately a classic CLAMP plot. However, I'm really sad that the manga was put on Hiatus and I really want volume four to be released soon! However, that doesn't seem likely at the moment. Tokyopop mentioned it, but until a new magazine will take it on it's on hold. PLEASE WRITE MORE!!!!
