Humbling in its Entirity an update
I had heard about this saint but didn't really know much about her, other than through his Divine Mercy Jesus spoke to her. This book is superb. I am not a Catholic but am considering becoming one (before I read this book), this book was purely at first just an interesting read. I have discovered that it is a book alive with the word of God and it has made me thirst for more knowledge concerning the Catholic Church.
UPDATE: I became a catholic on 22/3/08. St Faustina had her hand in this I believe and lets face it today's world has more need of Divine Mercy than at any other time. I share this book with my friends and encourage them to read it and spread the message - please read it and do the same.
Really inspirational
a wonderful book full of hope and mercy. A must read for those who are sad and hopeless. In this age of false visionaries it is very important to get the authentic mystics in to print. The sheer plethora of reported and false apparitions is enough to make you feel very weary! Such a relief to read something like this!
Important
I have grown up with the Divine Mercy devotion and little concise books containing the overall message of Divine Mercy - only recently did I read Saint Faustina's diary through from cover to cover and particularly love to go back to it a few times a week now. It is important for people particularly today and a vital insight into God's unfathomable Divine Mercy. I personally like to open it randomly and in particular read Jesus' Words which are printed in bold. This book should be kept with a copy of your Catholic Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church to read perhaps even only a short paragraph every day or two. Of course, the prayers given in the diary by Jesus or composed by Saint Faustina are powerful too and to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the souls of the dying is a wonderful vocation for those of us who live in the world. It takes a few moments and it is moving to read the origin of the chaplet in context with this very important book. This diary is highly recommended by Pope John Paul the Great and our present Pope Benedict 16th. A must have on every Catholic bookshelf.
