Average customer review:Product Description
"Trading Places" is a visual collection of traditional European shops that offers a nostalgic look at a different world of service and quality that is becoming increasingly hard to find. The book is punctuated with stories and anecdotes from shopkeepers and customers - it's the characters behind the shopfronts that make them what they are. Each chapter looks at a different type of shop, from delicatessens and wine merchants, through specialist paper and book shops to haberdashers with their buttons and ribbons and the buckets and mops of the hardware store. All 55 shops are in easy-to-reach European destinations, such as London, Paris, Prague, Berlin and Barcelona.

Customer Reviews
A unique, informative and interesting guide.
From the Forcola workshop in Venice (where I first encounterd this guide) to knife shops in Brussels, this book is a must when looking for that special souvenir on your European holidays or merely for an interesting read. Very accurate and extremely informative.
An entertaining, informative and excellent guide
I really enjoyed this guide to real, old style and quirky shops around Europe, with useful information and excellent photos. Liked the choice of shops, particularly the knife shop in Brussels! (but too many German ones). Useful to take on a long weekend or on a tour of Europe.
