Intercessions for Common worship
Pre-written intercessions can seem dry and stilted but Susan Sayers' book is a gem. It provides intercessions which can be used as they stand, but they also provide a useful framework for prayers which can be tailored to suit individual circumstances and churches.
This book is an excellent resource for anyone involved in intercessory prayers in Common Worship Holy Communion services.
I bought a copy because a friend showed me hers and now my Dad wants a copy too!

A great resource
This book was bought as a parish resource to enable teams of lay people to prepare intercessions for Sunday Worship. The feed back has been very positive - people find it provides a framework from which they can launch off to personalise how they want to pray. Anyone who uses the Common Lectionary each Sunday as the basis of Sunday Worship would do well to buy this as an aid, or as a way of providing ready made templates of prayers, if pressed for time. It's not a straightjacket and can be used flexibly and creatively.

I love this book and use it several Sundays a month when I am responsible for doing prayers of intercession in our Anglican church. These prayers follow our theme for each Sunday and can be used as is or with additions as desired. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in prayer, whether it be for formal or personal purposes.
