Very useful4
This large-format edition builds on the firm foundation of Mondey's British Aircraft of World War II (Hamlyn/Aerospace 1982), the text of which is incuded here with some slight amendment. The scope is much expanded, with new text and illustrations covering British Fleet Air Arm types and the many American types flown by the RAF and the FAA, also adding a comprehensive set of sketches for non-military aircraft types taken into Service (impressed). While many of the old Hamlyn edn colour side-views have been retained, the photo set has been much refreshed and as a welcome addition in this larger format, there are cutaway views in profusion (if at the cost of losing the small but accurate 3-views of the earlier work). Overall, a quality presentation in both scope, standard of text, and exemplary presentation of illustrations.
