Product Description

For Batman, the struggle between good and evil makes it a black and white world. In this fabulous new collection of stories, the artwork may be just that but the stories sure as hell are not! With vignettes as rich in pathos as they are boiling with action, these tales probe, ponder and satirise the dark labyrinth of the Batman mythos. They also feature the usual (and unusual) suspects: Robin, Catwoman, Joker and many more besides! This handsome volume, now available in paperback, also includes the finest collection of comics talent imaginable, with contributions from Alex Ross (Kingdom Come), Jim Lee (Batman: Hush), and Dave Gibbons (Watchmen) to name but a few!

Highly recommended5
When I first scanned this comic book in my local bookstore I have several doubts, the black and white printing and the apparently lack of unity make me doubt about the worthy of this book. But after reading it was clear that my initial perception was totally wrong.
The short length of each story and the use of only black and white printing don't affect the mastery of the collection, definitely, one of the best comics that I had read. The incredible quality of the individual stories is the only common thing between them. Using different versions of the Dark Knight in storylines ranging from comedy to drama with an intense graphic work.
My favorite stories in the book are: Templeton/Severin "Bats, Man", Claremont/Rude& Buckingham "A Matter of Trust", Levitz/Rivoche "Hide and Seek", Brennert/Garcia-Lopez "Guardian", Dini/Del Carmen "The Bet" and Grant/Breccia "The Bat No More?"
