Can a criminal ever really change?3
Thats what Batman has to ask himself throughout this book.

The story revolves more around the life of the criminal in question, Jennifer Blake. At the time of the bombings she is a rebellious twenty-six year old opposed to government, believing that common people should have the power not the rich. This is one of the motivating factors for the attack on Wayne Enterprises citing that "the Bruce Waynes on the world should listen". When Batman eventually tracks her down after ten years and several failed attempts he finds Jennifer living under a new identity in a role that helps people. Indeed when the Batman needs it most she is there to help him. After that Batman questions his own judgement of Jennifer and tries to find out if this new life she is living is just a way to get out of past sins or is for real.

Although the story itself is solid it oftens drops into the background with the artwork that is in this book. As with the majority of painted books the visuals often hinder the story itself and at some points I did wonder if this story may not have been more widely accepted if it was drawn.

Regardless of this I believe that this book is well worth reading as it raises many interesting issues that Batman has to reason for and against and again the artwork of the book is exceptional.
