Product Description
Mega-talented creative team, writer Doug Moench (Batman: Hong Kong) and artists Paul Gulacy (Star Wars: Crimson Empire) and Jimmy Palmiotti (Conan), brings to life an episode of Batman's past he hoped was long gone. The mind games of Professor Hugo Strange once had the fledgling Batman battling for his sanity, a battle that left Strange dead. Now, it seems, Strange has returned from the grave, bringing with him the terrifying Scarecrow in his quest for vengeance. And this time, to crush the Dark Knight once and for all, they're going after the weak spot in his armour -- the gorgeous Catwoman! Batman: Terror is a twisted tale of revenge, betrayal and murder not to be missed!

The Scarecrow cuts lose
As far as I was concerned, the Scarecrow was always one of the B-Listvillains. Used when the writers couldn't justify anyone bigger comingalong to try the Dark Knight's skills. Sure, he was an effective villain, but he was no Joker or even Two-Face.
That's what I thought ...
And then I read this book.
And I have a new-found respect for the Scarecrow.
Set early in Batman's crime fighting career (Catwoman is a newcomer to hislife), this sees Batman go up against Hugo Strange again. But this timeStrange enlists further help in the guise of the Scarecrow. But he turnsout to be far more lethal than even Strange had anticipated.
Theresulting conflagration is an enthralling read, easily one of the beststand-alone Batman books for a long time. Only the multi-part epics suchas No Man's Land and Bruce Wayne: Muderer?/Fugitive can equal thebrilliance of this single volume. And of course, to read them you have tobuy multiple books.
Highly recommended.
