Average customer review:Product Description
The spectacular Lightning was the only supersonic fighter that was designed and built in Britain without co-operation from overseas partners. Many of the photographs in this book were taken in the 60s when the Lightning was in service. Some are air-to-air shots taken by the pilots themselves.

A great collection of photos
This is a great book. The photos within are mainly taken by pilots or ground crew which provide some superb shots. If you want real action photos and wonderfully evocative shots of a great aircraft at work then buy his book. Some of the best are the take off photos on a wintry morning or of a formation take -off taken from the lead aircraft seconds after rotation - Fantastic! If you are looking for more than posed air to air shots I would recommend this.
A 'must' for every Lightning - and fast-jet - enthusiast.
If you were fortunate enough to have seen (and heard) the EE/BAC Lightning in service, and appreciated its phenomenal performance, you will want this book. If you weren't that lucky, you must buy it. An excellent selection of photographs, particularly Tony Paxton's air-to-air pics., and informative and sometimes amusing captions and anecdotes, make this a super study of the aircraft. I'd better order another copy before I wear mine out......
