An excellent book on how to live longer and be healthier
This is an excellent book,it avoids the pseudo-scientific babble contained in books of a similar genre. It is divided into four parts, the first part considers lifestyle, and because the book is evidence based it avoids long lists of unpalatable foods we should eat and supplements we should take. Instead the conclusion reached about diet was 'try and eat fish at least twice a week', easily achievable.
Subsequent chapters deal with screening tests, which are valuable and how often. Part two concentrates on what symptoms are serious, how the doctor makes a diagnosis. The third part of the book concentrates on maintaining looks, perception mobility. The final part concentrates on how the main threats to reaching a ripe old age namely heart disease, strokes and cancer may be prevented or at least postponed.
All in all an excellent read for those wanting the 'facts' explained in an interesting highly readable way.
