About the Author
Bamber Gascoigne won scholarships to Eton and Cambridge, and a Harkness Fellowship to Yale. He is perhaps best known for his appearances on British television - as chairman of 'University Challenge'. Other titles by Bamber Gascoigne are The Great Moghuls and The Treasures and Dynasties of China.
