Synopsis
Martin Miller is a legend in antiques publishing. Last year, the man who started Miller's Antiques Price Guide and cofounded the Lyle Antiques Review brought you the first edition of his best idea yet: an annually-updated, full-colour illustrated guide to antiques prices, based on retail outlets. Following the success of this ground-breaking new guide, this year's edition continues the high quality, full-colour standard of the first book. In addition to avoiding the wild variations in price which can be a feature of auction sales, many of the items featured, or similar objects, will still be available for purchase when the book is published, for those keen to hunt down a particular piece. In a handy paperback format, this is the perfect companion for your antiques hunts, as well as an excellent reference source for identifying and valuing your own antiques. Including extensive entries for collectables - the increasingly popular 'antiques of the future' - and an index of dealers and antique markets, the Antiques Source Book contains everything you need to know about buying antiques and collectables.

An accessible and informative guide to antique buying5
This book is unrivalled in the clarity of its style and the scope of its content. Both the expert and the amatuer, when buying antiques and collectibles will be able to draw on a wealth of information regarding a plethora of goods. The lay-out is characterised by colour images which encourages the enthusiast to browse through its 644 pages thereby gaining an insight into the world of antiques. However the guide is also highly referential which aids the on-the-spot buyer with relevant facts and figures that are easily accessible. All round this book is a treasure for antique lovers, a guide which deserves to be invested in.

Highly useful and indespensible for the antiques aficionado4
I thought this book was quantum leap in terms of improving the traditional price guide format such as the Miller Antiques Guides: It references actual antiques sold at dealers, I even found one particular item still available at a renowned sports memorabilia dealer! The depth of coverage of this book is excelent as it does not only cover antiques but encompasses a large range of collectibles such as Rock memorabilia and posters etc..

The best aspect of this book is that all photographs are in colour making price comparisons with an object you may have sitting in front of you easier and more objective.

I would have prefered a hardback version, as after only a few days of constantly leafing through it in the markets of Portobello and Camden, it is looking worse for wear!

Happy antiques hunting!
