A Biblically based exploration of the Spiritual Gifts
Jack Deere came from a theological background that didn't believe in the gifts of the Spirit for today. This book describes some of his process in coming to believe that the gifts of the Spirit are for today and didn't end with the apostles. Full of personal testimony, but also with a solid Biblical foundation. This book is a must read if you're reconsidering your position on this, or if you are in conversation with others that believe that the gifts no longer operate in today's church and want to be able to explain your argument more effectively.

Sane and exciting
Starting from a very informed and long term commited Christian life, the author is confronted with the power of the Holy Spirit in contenporary healing. He lets us into his deep analyitical and searching response. He does not throw out all the truths he knows and has lived of the Christan faith - rather he builds on them and what emerges is a fuller richer commitment. From reading this book I could see how God could break into the sceptical post modern mindset.
