Drawing on his extensive collection of old photographs, the author has selected some of the very best which covers the many mines that operated in the area. It also includes a selection of mining and tin streaming scenes which portray the diversity of the industry.The five miles between West Grenville Mine (Trevoole), South West of Camborne, and Wheal Uny, South of Redruth, embraces a highly mineralised tract of land which initially produced a great tonnage of high grade copper ores. Following this, and at a greater depth, tin became the predominant mineral. Of particular importance was the discovery of the Great Flat Lode which became the principal tin producing ore body South of Carn Brea.
