Product Description

Winston Churchill is synonymous with the Second World War and the defeat of Nazism and his name will forever be remembered in British and indeed world history. However, Winston Churchill: The Greatest Briton uncovers the other sides to this famous leader. It provides a detailed examination, partly biographical and partly anecdotal, of the extraordinary life of this remarkable man.

Customer Reviews

Bit too much anecdot and too many quotes5
I really like this book and only wish, as I said, that it was not so heavily focused on what sometimes seems like trivia. This flaw isn't anything worse than occasionally irritating and the rest of the book is important and highly insightful. This may actually be the best book on our great leader since Martin Gilbert's bio.

An excellent introduction to Churchill5
This is just the right book if you want to get to know about Winston Churchill.I admit that I knew very little really, but this book is written in such a way that you can't help but learn about the man in an extremely readable way.
Dominique Enright gives a reasonably detailed history without weighing the reader down with too many facts.By that I mean that you can sometimes be put off by reading a biography if it has too many pages. You find yourself being deluged about absolutely everything about the subject and this can get a little bit wearing. At just over 250 pages, this book is the perfect introduction to the great man and perhaps would make you want to tackle a more in depth biography.A very good read and a top job by the author.
