Good Housekeeping Does It Again!
This is a book that follows the great tradition of Good Housekeeping. A great variety of recipes that work! They are sensibly laid out and easy to follow. After a short chapter on basics, it covers every occasion, ranging from "Nibbles" to "Cooking to Impress" with menus for up to twenty people and everything inbetween. It also has sections on baking, breadmaking and jams and preserves and lots more. Like all the previous books in the series I am sure this will become the cooks kitchen reference book when "What shall we have for supper tonight?" strikes. There is something for everyone here from complete novices to jaded semi professionals. Good Housekeeping keeps up with modern trends and there are plenty of new ideas for vegetarian, no cook meals and fast food. Its a great value addition to the kitchen.
buyer beware
we own this book; it's jam packed with some truly mouth watering yet practical ideas BUT it is frustrating and let down by an appalling index. great if your "WILFing" (what was I looking for) with no particular recipe/event in mind but errors are present and it's not always easy to find what your looking for. I came here to this site to see if there was an updated version with a better index section because,I say again, the recipes themselves are fabulous...
