About the Author
William Henry Hudson was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, of Amercian parents. He spent his early years in Argentina, emigrating to England in 1869. He was an keen observer and lover of nature, and his works include a series of books on the natural history of South America and England. His best known work, Green Mansions (1904), is a romance set in a South American jungle. Included among his other works are The Purple Land (1885), A Crystal Age (1887), A Shepherd's Life (1910), and Far Away and Long Ago (1918).
