Customer Reviews

Flimsy in all senses of the word1
Episode guides always walk a thin line between pointless repitition and useful addition and insight. The best of them like the Watchers Guides and the Avengers Dossier add snippets of off screen info, pop culture references and private lives of the stars, characters and world back ground.

The worst of them, well actually just read this this is the worst of them. What it does is take all the DVD extras content from Series 1 and 2 and put them into a book. Now that might be nice if it added to it with say sketches we hadn't seen before or new snippets of information but it doesn't it leaves it as it stands.

Given the wealth of background material referenced on the official website and in the episode commentaries that we learn nothing of that here is a pretty poor showing, but let's leave that for now.

The book is bulked out by some nice full page shots of the cast. So nice in fact that most of them are reprinted once in colour once in black and white often within a few pages as a bonus the book is so badly bound that most of the pages will fall out after your first reading so you can use these pages as cast pictures or posters.

Okay so lets get to the core of the book the episode guide. Again there's nothing new exciting or very informative here many of the reviews are lifted wholesale from websites and add feel very hollow.

Overall this just feels liek a rush job to cash in on the series there's very little solid content of that most if not all of it isn't new and it's packaged so badly that it's doubtfull the book will survive one certainly not 2 readings (note this is based on my copy other copies may be more robust).

It's an oppotunity very badly wasted and a great shame as few series have enjoyed as rich and varied a background as Andromeda
