excellent read
It was a painful decision as to if I should buy this book or not - how the hell was I going to have the self control not to just rush to the back and read the ending - but so far so good I have resisted the temptation and am certainly glad I got it - it has proved to be a valuable souce of information whilst watching this brilliant show - frankly its so complicated with so many under line plots that I feel it has really helped me get to grip with the show and fully appreciate it!!!
Another look on season 1
This book does provides a guide that covers the first hour to the last, with a summary of each episode, things to look out for, bits of trivia, and background information on both the show and things like the American electoral process (which is good for non-US audiences). However, what makes it interesting is the fact that, rather than reviewing the episode (reviews can be found somewhere else), the author brings up a series of topics such as the effects of Sept. 11 on the first episodes of the show and on TV in the US as a whole. A sort of real-life connection that -- inadvertedly -- gave "24" an entirely different edge. A good read for long-time fans for reminiscing purposes and a nice recap for the new ones. The only flaw is the lack of photos and a further look behind the scenes.
No Guidebook at all
This "Guidebook" was done in a hurry, and it shows: It does'nt contain much more then Then a narration of the first season episodes. No Intervies, no look behind the scenes, nothing but the quite irrelevant musings of the author about topics whitch are very loosly relateted to each episode. Very disapointing.
