Synopsis
Kidnapped from Earth by sex-slavers, Elise Ashton is rescued by a space knight with midnight hair and obsidian eyes. Maddened with desire, Ki Tul'Mar puts his life on the line to win his soul's mate, even knowing he'll have to go to war to claim her from the slaver prince. A galactic battle for the freedom of one woman. An unwitting betrayal with deadly consequences. A passion so primitive it brings to life a legend that will change a world. When Ki and Elise join in a hot union beyond erotic fantasy, they make more than love, more than a couple...and more trouble than they bargained for.

WONDERFUL
ELISE has been experiencing incredibly erotic dreams of a space pirate whisking her away from Earth, a tall dark hunk she names ORION. Unfortunately her first contact with ET's in no way resembles her secret fantasies. After leaving her best friend and cousin GEORGIA to go grab her purse, she is abducted by large reptilian green things that collar her and laugh at the pain they inflict. ELISE has been captured as a pleasure slave by the ORTANS and chosen as LORD GITH'S mate. By bringing her to ectsasy in a mechanical pleasure bed the alligator like LORD GITH stakes a legitimate Galactic Council claim on her. Amid her throes of pleasure, ELISE calls out to her fantasy lover. KI, the Sailmaster of ARDA (a position of rule on his planet) hears her and after strengthening their psi connection realises she is his SHANNA, his soul mate. Caught in his first mating frenzy, KI battles an entire ORTAN army to reach his SHANNA, and by claiming her for himself risks a galactic war. Once back on the safety of his ship, he has the opportunity to study his soul mate and is left stunned. She is everything he has ever desired in a woman. One small problem though. What is this ORION she continues to call him? Is it some kind of primitive endearment?
Though overjoyed to have found ELISE there is another larger problem to overcome. As a primitive, ELISE cannot contain PA, the living quicksilver essence of the universe. Unlike other ARDANI she will never be completely telepathic and therefore never experience a full mental bond with KI. ELISE senses that she is lacking something essential to the development of their relationship and realises that her worry and loss over GEORGIA holds her back from fully embracing her new life. She therefore vows to somehow get back to Earth and return with her best friend to the fabulous, paradise world of ARDA.
Escaping off ARDA with her unborn daughter, ELISE desperately hopes KI will forgive her when he finds her note. Thank God for the technologically that created completely automated spacecraft! She estimates that should it all go to plan, she'll be back home on ARDA with GEORGIA in tow in 10 days or so. Yet unknown to her, KI has formally announced the date of her Presentation to the people, a ancient rite steeped in ARDANI tradition. Should she fail to stand by his side in 9 days time he will be formally stripped of all power and executed.
This book is extremely well written and MS WINDSOR has now been added to my must have author list alongside JAID BLACK and DARA JOY. This series continues with the story of FARI (KI'S brother) and GEORGIA in THE SAILKEEPERS BRIDE and KYRSTA (KI and FARI's sister) in THE CAPTAINS FANCY. I am desperate to visit ARDA again and am therefore disappointed to discover that these two stories are currently only available as digital downloads.
An Author Not to Be Missed!
'Arda: The Sailmaster's Woman' is the first in a trilogy of stories by Annie Windsor from Ellora's Cave Publishing. This author is an incredibly talented writer who should not be missed! Once tried she will be added to your automatic futuristic read list with Dara Joy and Jaid Black.
Sailmaster's Woman mainly takes place on a different planet - although the Earth scene will leave you gasping in laughter. The new world, its inhabitants with their various trials and tribulations for survival and power, and more importantly the relationship between the heroine and hero are just a few of the nuances perfected by Windsor's writers touch.
The romance is steamy, emotional and tangible allowing the reader to fall right in without a bump. Honestly, they leave you begging for the next installment - which for me places Windsor in the can't put it down until it is read through in one sitting and then searching for the next.
