Tim Jackson is Professor of Sustainable Development at the Centre for Environmental Strategy (CES) in the University of Surrey. He has provided input and advice on sustainable consumption to a wide variety of UK government departments, policy makers, opinion formers and NGOs.

The Earthscan Reader on Sustainable Consumption (Earthscan Readers Series)
Excellent book very well written a book to educate that you could actually read. Concepts and theories are still sound and in some cases even apply more today. Written for both laymen and scholars alike good for reference however some of the government stats in it have been super seeded now and should be checked for updates.
