Beware - This is a life-changing book!5
I've just read this fantastic book by Desmond Tutu. It is right up there with Philip Yancey's "What's so amazing about Grace?" in terms of its ability to affect the whole way that I look at and try to live the Christian life. The two central themes are:

1. Transfiguration. He calls this the power of God's transformation in our world. The principle of transfiguration says nothing, no one and no situation is "untransfigurable,"... He talks about St. Paul, St. Peter and also characters like Nelson Mandela being examples, but of course all of us are capable of being transfigured (the process is a life-long, ongoing one).

2. Ubuntu. (A Nguni word) "It is the essence of being human. It speaks of the fact that my humanity is caught up and inextricably bound up in yours..." Because of Ubuntu, we are all in this life together and what we do affects others as well as what they do affecting us. This of course applies on National and International levels as well.

These two themes are woven together in the book to powerful effect. It is extremely thought provoking, challenging and yet comforting also. We are not on our own, because God has a dream for us and plan and a purpose for our lives - God wants to change us and the world - all we have to do is let Him.

An inspirational book5
In GOD HAS A DREAM, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, a hero from the anti-Apartheid struggle, the spiritual and moral representative of South Africa and one of the few legends of our time made a case for humanity. In this book full of hope, deep and moving messages, profound spirituality, beautiful lessons, wise words and insightful truths, we are also treated to a series of humorous lines. This book is idealist in its message but pragmatic in its approach to solving the problems humanity is facing. It has a solution for people of every race, religion, nationality and gender. I recommend this book to anyone who seeking for the truth to solutions of humanity's problems.

Reclaiming our humanity5
A fantastic book by a true man of God. It is a refreshing source of inspiration, drawn from the personal experience in apartheid South Africa, on how to resolutely embrace our humanity in the face of inhuman atrocities throughout the world. This book will give hope to those who are inclined to think that God has abandoned our world. No, he hasn't and maybe you will be able to see His dream through the eyes of this charismatic proponent of non-violence and forgiveness, in a world which sorely lacks both.
