Yuck Yuck1
I had never previously thought of writing a review on Amazon for any of the purchases I have made, until I read Swine Fever.

Having read and enjoyed the other Judge Dredd/2000Ad related novels from Black Flame (they have been as good as the previous Dredd novels from Virgin books were) I looked forward to reading Swine Fever.

However Swine Fever is not just a terrible Judge Dredd tale, but a truely appaling book in every sense. This has got to be the worst Judge Dredd story line from ANY of the formats in which they have been printed.
Dredd aficionados or fans read at your peril.
How was this author allowed to sully a character that has become as iconic as Dredd?
Remember the horrendous Stallone, Dredd film and how that really was a poor attempt at capturing the world of of Dredd on cellulous?
Well this is the literary equivalent.

"Dreddfull!"

ABC wannabe1
Hmm, well firstly this isnt a comic/graphic novel, I suppose I could of returned it but I wanted to read it anyway; big mistake.

This book reads like a 15 year olds idea for a comic storyline. It is highly derivitive of the original comics, at times it trys to repeat dialog or scinarios from the comics perhapse hoping we haven't read them. Maybe it was written by one of the original contributors but it seems to be lacking a certain element of sophistication. I can only speculate but I think without the input/imagination of the artists, the narative and imagery is simplistic, unrealistic and, as I say, childish.

Also I dont like the authors take on the charactors, especialy his version of Deadlock with is just pathetic.

If you are an ABC warrior fan; buy something else. If you got everything else you arn't missing anything good.

Great for ABC Warriors fans5
After reading most of the ABC Warrior graphic novels I thought I would try an ABC Warriors novel and I was really impressed. I am not one for books other than graphic novels but this book had me gripped from the start and I could not put it down.
This book explains all the warriors pasts as the story unfolds in the battle to keep peace on Mars as only the ABC's can - plus in this book one of the warriors actually dies!

Gotta get myself book two to of this series Rage Against The Machines now!
