Product Description

In their battle for supremacy in the years leading up to the Second World War, Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union dominated Grand Prix racing. This lavishly illustrated record of the greatest, but also notorious, period of motor racing history provides detailed photographic coverage of the two German teams, examining the cars, races, drivers, team personnel and political involvement, and also the efforts of the lesser teams to stem this Teutonic onslaught.

Customer Reviews

Superb companion to Chris Nixon's 'Racing the Silver Arrows'5
Excellent - Purposely light on text, every page is packed with beautiful photos. Has a good balance of well-known and previously unpublished photos from the Audi, Mercedes, and even Alfa Romeo archives, including several pages of colour photos by Louis Klementaski. Complements other Silver Arrow volumes well, as the photos that re-appear here are often cropped differently and have excellent captions.

A future classic5
Auto Union Album is now a reference for all motor racing fans.
This book will have the same faith in the near future.
Fantastic photographs who catch the glorious moments of the Silver Arrows' history.
Hundreds of photo's that make us live the amazing atmosphere that existed on the 1930's racing tracks.
A must have.
