Average customer review:Product Description
This is the first text to examine the principal elements of service user involvement and participation across both adult and children s services. A valuable learning resource, it draws together information from research, service users, carers and practitioners across both groups. In addition, it gives an overview of the specific knowledge, attitude and skills that social workers need for training at qualifying level, and integrates theory with evidence to inform everyday social work practice. Further, case studies and activities encourage reflection and the application of this knowledge to practice situations.

Service User and Carer Participation in Social Work
I am finding this book invaluable in my study, for a social work degree at Bristol UWE.
Brilliant intro on service user involvement!
Absolutely brilliant book taking a look into the history, legislation and the future of involvement.
Aimed more at the student market, included in each chapter is a list of NOS's could be met by building upon each chapter, but still a brilliant read for practioners and managers a like.
Well worth a read.
