Product Description

This is the definitive guide to higher education entry. Written by Brian Heap, the guru of higher education, it contains all the information and advice applicants need in order to draw up a shortlist of courses and win a place at the university of their choice. This best-selling guide leads applicants through the maze of degree courses currently on offer in the UK, giving invaluable guidance in a highly competitive and often confusing area. As well course listings and standard entry offers, the book provides a wealth of subject specific information such as course variations, common misconceptions, graduate destinations and employment, valuable advice on costs and admissions tests and interviews. It is also the only publication that lists courses in descending UCAS tariff points order. This 39th edition includes an extensive course index and has been fully updated for students applying for university entry in 2009. Also new for this edition is a full chapter detailing the benefits of Sandwich degree courses and professional placements - including advice direct from university staff. Detailed information has been sourced from six universities (Aston, Bath, Brunel, Cardiff (UWIC), Kingston and Loughborough), outlining the employment and financial benefits to be gained by students undertaking Sandwich courses and placements.
