About the Author
Ken Wilson-Max was born in Zimbabwe in 1965. He studies art in Harare, Zimbabwe before coming to England where he studied Design and Print Planning at the London College of Printing. He worked as a designer in both London and Zimbabwe. Ken has worked at Orchard Books and the BBC as a children's book designer and was Assistant Art Director at David Bennett Books. Since then he has worked as a freelance designer. He is the creator of several award-winning books including The Big Yellow Taxi and The Little Red Plane. He now lives in London.

really very good
This is fabulous book. Just the sort of thing I never had as a child. It's sufficiently exiting to keep their attention and detailed enough to teach them a fair deal they won't have encountered elsewhere. The activities are based around taking a ride in a taxi and a re practical as well as safety conscious. My one criticism is that it's so popular in my household that it's almost worn out. Perhaps the whole thing should be made out of plastic. Would that be possible? Overall though I fully recommend it for kids as young as one plus. As an added bonus it has spawned an early interest in Joni Mitchell.

Toddler Books
A lovely book which is almost a game, young children love pulling the flaps and talking about the car. A great book for three year olds, I would recommend all of the books in this style.

Fabulous
My three-year old's favourite book, for a period of over a year and counting. Hits what children find fun like a nail on the head. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
