Mythology - an informative and visually great book
I ADORE this book.
You certainly get plenty for your money: this thing is like a brick and crammed full of beautifully reproduced pictures and a few origional art pieces. The book takes you through the classical mythologies, Norse myth, over asia, mesopetamia, australia - giving you a surprising amount of detail, while still organising into bitesize individual stories within a broader theme. If you're interested in world religions and mythologies, I couldn't reccomend this more highly. It gives you an overview to pretty much all you could want and is very entertaining.
I will say though, that it's centred primarily around gods, creation myths and the likes. If you're looking for more folklore-ish style mythology (such as legends of vampires, chimeras and whatnot) than this isn't the book you're looking for.
But the variety is very very engaging and beautifully presented. I love it - 5 stars :D
