Product Description

Where is Little Bear? In this charming look-and-find book, highlighted by Jackie Morris's gorgeous animal fantasies, very young children explore theatrical and circus settings as they attempt to find the missing cub. The concepts of opposites, colors, and contrasts are introduced in the read-aloud nursery verse, and simple clues and vivid word images help children discover Little Bear, whether he's trying on a hat, standing on his head, or floating in a balloon. Gradually Little Bear moves into a more familiar landscape of tea, bath, and bedtime, a cue for little bears' bedtimes everywhere.

Editorial Reviews

Review
This look-and-find journey through a series of ultra-colourful settings in different countries is simply astonishing. (Independent )

This inspired book more than deserves to become a prize winner. (Carousel )

A sumptuous book that really teaches children to look at pictures. The Illustrations are fabulous, from the star studded cover and the journey on the first end papers onwards... The rhyming text is perfect to read aloud. (The Ultimate First Book Guide )

Beautiful5
We've just got this out of the library, and I'll definitely be buying a copy for my 16-month-old. The pictures are absolutely beautiful and it's the kind of book that I enjoy looking at as much as he does.

Stunningly beautiful illustrations and a comforting read for little ones5
There's a lot to see in this richly illustrated children's story. My two year old has just begun to ask for this particular story at bedtime - when he was given it 6 months ago it held less interest...The story follows a little bear all the way through a day of the colourful, amazing and marvellous to the restful warm of bath and bed - questions throughout are quite engaging ('can you see a little bear trying on a hat?' and have an abundance of images to prompt comment after comment from my son ('the crocodiles are cleaning their teeth'...'the little bear has lost his hat'). For me the artwork is just stunning.

wonderful fantasy5
We were given this as a present and my 22 month old never tires of hearing and looking at it - the pictures are so finely detailed and the book has a kind of feeling of travelling with the circus in some cold beautiful far away land. It is an absolute pleasure to read aloud and share in the magic created within the pages.
