Customer Reviews
More beautiful than expected.
I saw a couple of the short items from this book featured in a magazine and found them charming and a joy to read. Each well known author has written about a place in England that is meaningful to them. I ordered the books including giftwrap to be sent direct to a variety of people for Christmas. It was not until I got my own copy that I realised what a good sized book it is, the number of places included, and how magnificent the full page photos are that accompany each item. Altogether a very special book to treasure. Some of the recipients rang immediately to congratulate me on such an excellent choice. Great Amazon service too.
A must have book for all lovers of all things English
This is a beautiful book which I would recommend to anyone wanting to cherish the lovelier bits of England before they all vanish. Wonderful photography and excellent essays accompanying the chosen bits of Britain. Some unusual choices and almost poetic descriptions of our lovely country and more. Also sold in a good cause which is a good enough reason to treat yourself to it without delay.
Makes you smile...
I bought 'Icons of England' for a friend who hasn't been to England for 26 years. You can't read a book by the cover, but the cover is so unfeasibly English, it sums up the book so well. Every page made me smile. The photography is wonderful, the words, thought provoking. I'll be delivering the book to my friend on 3rd April; I hope he enjoys it!
