Product Description

Continuing the evolution of the new Batgirl, Cassandra Cain, is the successor to original Batgirl Barbara Gordon. Can a teen trained as a lethal assassin ever cast off her tainted past? Cassandra has moved to a new town and a new life in Bludhaven, but Gotham City was a mere training ground for the challenges she's about to face. Not content with her investigations into the town's latest crime boss, the Penguin, Batgirl must struggle to avoid a watery grave at the hands of a new threat: the Brotherhood of Evil! This youthful take on the Bat mythos has attracted a loyal audience with its larger-than-life action, stunning artwork and original storylines.

Batgirl settles into Blüdhaven5
Cassandra Cain, the Batgirl, has moved to the city of Blüdhaven in order to bring order to its corrupt streets but the Penguin is also setting up shop in the city and is making deals and building a new criminal empire. After getting her own place Batgirl immediately sets to work putting down the thugs of Blüdhaven but her activities soon see her hunted by the Brotherhood of Evil and Deathstroke.

Cassandra Cain's Batgirl is one of my favourite DC heroes and Deathstroke is one of my favourite villains so I found this story great fun. The artwork is good, if not spectacular and the story itself, although brief, is a good one which is engrossing and has a couple of twists. The story has some great action in it but it also has some good character scenes between Cassandra and the owner of her local café. Although she is a favourite character of mine this is the first Batgirl story that I have read but after reading this I will definitely be seeking out other stories in which she appears.
