Kurt Busiek has written comics for decades, including a legendary run on The Avengers. His other work includes writing for Darkman, The Hulk, Iron Man, Green Lantern, Untold Tales of Spider-Man and the JLA/Avengers crossover. Pete Woods has worked on Batman and Catwoman.

A great introduction for a first time comic reader or a long time fan
This is a Superman story that for the first 3 or 4 chapters has one thing missing, Superman. This is not a bad thing. Set one year after Infinite Crisis it opens with Superman being just Clark Kent. The story shows you the man behind the cape and the life he lives when he's not wearing it. It showcases the major characters well and you understand who they are and why. A well written reminder story which will make new and old readers alike smile.

Superman
I've recently begun to enter the world of graphic novels, and decided to start off with this superman novel which follows the events of 'infinite crisis' a year on. okay so this probably wasnt the best place to start but still I enjoyed it. The drawings, the colour, the text is superb! quite funny in some places and serious in others. i don't really have anything to compare this to, but from what i've read and seen its a cool novel with lots of ups and downs.
