Batman : Vampire4
I really enjoyed this comic its the first Batman graphic novel I've bought . I really kliked the art work throughout this comic intrested me a great deal.I do recomend it .

Awesome story, poor artwork3
Volume one in this collection 'Red Rain' was the first batman graphic novel that I ever read, however i never got around to reading the sequel (bloodstorm) and the conclusion (Crimson Mist) so i was quite excited by the release of a collected edition.

The vampire storyline begins as a very gothic batman tale as he tries to get to grips with the fact that vampires have overrun Gotham. The first volume is good, but suffers from feeling a bit rushed but culminates in a spectacular final battle. 'Red Rain' conlcudes with the man being transformed into a true creature of the night which is where the fun begins.

I won't spoil the rest but I will say that most of the the major villains come into the next two volumes and Batman goes to some very dark places indeed.

The one major downside to this work however is the artwork. The early 90's style has aged very poorly and there is a general lack of consistency of quality. It does however improve as you get to the end. Another minor irritatation: Batman's thoughts are written in really difficult to read script font which quickly became tedious.

Overall it is a very refreshing departure from the standard universe batman stories and is an excellent companion to 'Superman: Red Son' if you want to see the heroes in completley different worlds.
